Los Angeles
What's on
Shows, comedy, open mics, jams and classes across the metro. The recurring listings come from the venues' own published schedules — always confirm with the venue before you drive.
LA improv is an industry town's scene: UCB's Franklin Avenue theater in Hollywood has fed half of television, The Groundlings on Melrose has been the sketch-and-improv pipeline to SNL for fifty years, and The Pack in Los Feliz carries the affordable indie torch six nights a week with tickets from free to ten dollars. Santa Monica gets Westside Comedy Theater's seven-night calendar, Burbank gets ComedySportz's family-friendly matches, and Impro Theatre in Los Feliz does something nobody else does — full-length improvised plays in the style of Tennessee Williams or Jane Austen.
The listings below come from each venue's own published schedule with links to their own box offices, and the classes page compares every major training program in the city.
