What's on

Shows, comedy, open mics, jams and classes across the metro. The recurring listings come from the venues' own published schedules — always confirm with the venue before you drive.

Covering Midtown, Old Fourth Ward, Downtown, Doraville, Decatur, Marietta, Alpharetta, Dunwoody, Roswell and Milton.

Atlanta's improv scene punches well above its size. Dad's Garage in the Old Fourth Ward is one of the country's best-known improv theaters, running shows Wednesday through Saturday — Maestro midweek, the Dad's Garage Vault on Thursdays, and a three-show Saturday that starts with the family matinee Wowie Zowie! and ends with the late-night Cage Match; Whole World Improv Theatre has held down Midtown for three decades with shows Thursday through Saturday nights; and newer rooms like Onward Theatre and the Limelight keep the downtown scene moving.

The listings below come from the venues' own published schedules — every show links to the theater's own box office, and the classes page compares Atlanta's training programs from Dad's Garage University's beginner-to-advanced improv track to Whole World's ten-week courses.
